HI! I can't believe it's April and that I have lived in LA for just over 9 months. I had an LA baby. Emotionally.
February was super great as I finished my short film A Breakup, produced two woman-on-the-street videos for dating website Plenty of Fish, and moved from West Hollywood to Venice Beach! (you know, in addition to some dope auditions and improv classes)
March marked the completion of the core improv program at UCB (Upright Citizen's Brigade) where I studied with Billy Merritt, Todd Fasen, and Alex Berg. I also starred in (give or take) EIGHT sketches and one short film, and began practicing with a new improv team currently called Neighborhood Watch.
April will bring the pre-production of the next short by Beth Coyle & I, as well as the launch of our new YouTube channel. You can follow us for now on Instragram or Twitter: @SouthofRose
Stay tuned & thank you for checking in!!!

Team. There is a lot happening in the land of Laura McDonald.
First, my writing partner Beth Coyle and I are in pre-production for our first short film, The Breakup - a comedic look at how men and women deal with breakups differently. The film is being co-written, directed, and produced by Beth & I and will be out during the first week of February on our vimeo & YouTube channels, which have yet to be officially launched.
Speaking of YouTube, Beth & I are also starting a YouTube channel, which will be launched by February 1st as well. It's currently called Everything Happens So Much, though that may change. We will release weekly vlog & sketch videos starring yours truly and some of our other fancy LA friends. Stay tuned here for more information!

The most recent webseries I starred in was recently released. The Happiest People in New York is a mockumentarystyle series about 13 NYers pursuing their dreams. My character, Tiffany Perkins, dreams of being the female Donald Trump - she's an entrepreneur who creates companies like Re-Jew-Venate, a dating service for divorced or widowed Jews.
